Giovanna Florencia Padilla

PT, DPT

Gio’s interest in physical therapy was sparked when she was a patient in PT undergoing treatment for an injury she sustained in a summer dance intensive with Boston Ballet. She fostered her excitement about the profession both as an undergraduate in Exercise Science at the University of Pittsburgh and then in PT school at the University of St. Augustine in Austin, TX. Through her clinical rotations, her passion for treating acute & chronic neck and back pain, as well as sports related injuries was cemented.

Gio’s approach to treatment is multifaceted, including McKenzie Method techniques, manual therapy, and movement analysis. She takes great pride in prescribing exercise specific to each individual to treat the root cause of their injury while tailoring their program specifically to return to the activities they enjoy. Education is also paramount throughout the treatment process, as it gives her patients the tools and confidence they need to avoid injury in the future.

Her hobbies outside of the clinic align closely with her treatment interests and include rock climbing, dancing, and running. Gio is fluent in Spanish, which has helped her to connect with and treat patients who may otherwise face a communication barrier that could hinder care. Being from Dallas, she fully embraces the shorter NW summers and all of the natural beauty Washington has to offer. She’s also learning to love the winters.
